La 41ª edición de los Golden Joystick Awards, anunció a sus ganadores en una deslumbrante ceremonia celebrada en el Royal Lancaster Hotel de Londres, transmitida a nivel mundial.
Con casi 5 millones de votos públicos, surgieron ganadores en 20 categorías diversas, lo que refleja la excepcional variedad de juegos de alta puntuación lanzados el año pasado. Las categorías elegidas por la crítica, incluidas Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough Award y Streamers’ Choice, agregaron profundidad a los elogios. Baldur’s Gate 3 y Larian Studios acapararon la atención con siete victorias, consiguiendo el mejor juego del año, la mejor comunidad de juegos, la mejor narración y el estudio del año. Neil Newbon, que interpreta a Astarion en Baldur’s Gate 3, se hizo con la recién introducida categoría de Mejor Artista de Reparto.
Grandes sorpresas
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty obtuvo premios por Mejor expansión de juego y Mejor tráiler de juego. Geométrico Interactive celebró un premio Breakthrough Award por Cocoon, mientras que Alan Wake 2 obtuvo el prestigioso premio Critics’ Choice. Sea of Stars brilló como el Mejor Juego Indie. Otros títulos notables incluyeron Final Fantasy VII Rebirth como Juego Most Wanted, Resident Evil 4 como Juego del Año de PlayStation, Starfield como Juego del Año de Xbox y The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom como Juego del Año de Nintendo.
También se reconocieron las actuaciones destacadas, con Ben Starr, Clive Rosfield en Final Fantasy XVI, nombrado Mejor Intérprete Principal, y Neil Newbon, Astarion en Baldur’s Gate 3, premiado como Mejor Intérprete de Reparto.
Organizado por Troy Baker, el evento contó con invitados especiales del mundo de los videojuegos, incluidos los actores Manon Gage, Maggie Robertson, Ben Starr, Yuri Lowenthal, Stephanie Joosten, Samantha Béart y Neil Newbon. Elvira Björkman y Nicklas Hjertberg de Two Feathers, y Gosia Mitręga, productora ejecutiva de la nueva saga Witcher en CD PROJEKT RED, también estuvieron en la ocasión. Amelia Tyler, narradora de Baldur’s Gate 3, guió a los espectadores a través de los juegos y estudios nominados.
